Firefighters were battling a major fire at an apartment building in Central Jersey, according to developing and unconfirmed reports.

The fire broke out at about 1 p.m. at 307 Shrewsbury Ave. in Red Bank, according to initial reports.

An unconfirmed report said that heavy fire was showing from multiple apartments.
